  • Undergraduate Research Assistant Needed: Motion Strategy and Virtual Reality Laboratory

    Project Description: There are two possible projects - (i) designing and implementing robotic swarms with high-level specifications on their dynamics. The focus is on quantifying the sensing/actuation/computational requirements needed to generate different swarm dynamics. (ii) developing high-level, verifiable specification languages for the design and control of robotic systems, eventually contributing to ROS (Robot Operating System).

    The focus of both projects is on simple mobile robots for personal/household use.

    Requirements

    Interest in robotics, math, and/or programming languages
    CS, Physics, ECE, ME, Math, and any other engineering or design-based major

    Experience with relevant math (e.g., logic, algebra, graph theory, topology, or statistical mechanics) preferred

    The National Science Foundation BioXFEL Science and Technology Center is pleased to announce that it will be hosting its tenth annual international conference May 16-18, 2023. Our annual External Advisors Meeting will be held Monday, May 15, 2023.

    The annual International BioXFEL Conference brings together experts in a variety of fields (structural biology, physics, biochemistry, and more) to discuss the most recent advances in structural biology using X-ray Free Electron Lasers (XFELs).     Research Experience for Undergraduates (REU) The Future of Discovery: Training Students to Build and Apply Open Source Machine Learning Models and Tools (FODOMMaT) program at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign’s National Center for Supercomputing Applications (NCSA) is seeking students to apply for a 10-week paid summer training experience in machine learning. Successful applicants will work full-time on one of cutting-edge FODOMMaT research projects that develop open-source machine learning models and tools and use them to solve real-world problems. The program will be held on-site at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, and REU FoDOMMaT fellows will work in person during Summer 2025.

    SURF is a 10-week-long paid research opportunity for undergraduates enrolled in US universities. The Purdue SURF application opens Dec 1, 2024. Priority deadline is Jan 15, 2025 with rolling admissions after this deadline.
