This position will assist the Eastern Region Biologists with surveying and monitoring populations of federal and state endangered, threatened, and rare freshwater species using methods such as snorkeling, seining, backpack electrofishing, and boat electrofishing. Responsibilities will include field sampling (70%), aquaculture (10%), sample analysis (10%), data entry (5%), and administrative support (5%). The work area includes the Neuse, Tar-Pamlico, lower Roanoke, Chowan, and Pasquotank river basins in North Carolina. The position will begin April 1, 2017 and end November 30, 2017. We will accept inquiries for shorter periods of work; start date is flexible.
