Early Intervention Training Program at the University of Illinois

Created in May 2026, EITP developed a resource for service coordinators and/or referral sources to help facilitate conversations around the benefits of EI.

The EI Clearinghouse and IDHS-DEC Chief of the Bureau of Early Intervention, Benny Delgado, will be hosting  "Early Intervention Town Hall Meeting for Families" via Zoom. This is a valuable opportunity to learn about the experiences of families in the system and engage in real-time dialogue focused on improving early intervention services in Illinois.  The town hall gives a unique opportunity for families to share their experiences directly with Benny. 

Providers are welcome to attend, but please invite families (past and present) to join you! 

 It would be particularly helpful to share this information with Spanish-speaking families.

FormBuilder Scheduled Maintenance Notice

Beginning Feb. 4, 2026 (tonight) at 10 pm, the EITP server software is being updated, and should be complete by 2 am on Feb. 5th (Thursday morning). 

There will be one or more service interruptions as we reboot the updated system. We expect these interruptions to last 10-15 minutes each, but a longer downtime of up to 4 hours may occur if there are issues during or after the update.

Please join one of our upcoming IDEC Workforce Listening Sessions to discuss support, training and professional development, compensation, work environments, and wellbeing for Illinois’ early childhood education and care workforce. In these sessions, you’ll have the opportunity to share successes, challenges, and opportunities, as well as provide input on the state’s priorities related to the early childhood workforce. This feedback will be used to inform the state’s work and opportunities as the early childhood programs and services transition from DCFS, IDHS, and ISBE to IDEC. We’re particularly looking for input from the frontline early childhood workforce (i.e. teachers, assistant teachers, home visitors, therapists, etc.), though anyone is welcome to join.

Announcement of new resource - the Interactive CFC Map - which provides Early Interventionists and families in Illinois a reference tool to identify a CFC office's areas of service and relevant contact information (e.g. fax number, website) using pinpoints on the map of Illinois to allow users to interact and find information quickly.
