    We are accepting applications to fill the vacant Resource Science Technician position with the Statewide Mussel Program, stationed at the Central Regional Office and Conservation Research Center in Columbia, Missouri.   • Stewardship Field Coordinator, The Land Trust for Tennessee (Nashville, TN; due Nov. 17)

    The Stewardship Field Coordinator position is focused primarily on completing annual monitoring visits and other site visits to protected properties across TN. Annual Monitoring is the regular inspection of property protected with a conservation easement and is a core component of The Land Trust’s stewardship program. The Stewardship Field Coordinator may also assist as requested with other components of the stewardship program including: addressing requests for activity approvals, working with landowners to understand their conservation easement, enforcement, land management, GIS mapping and analysis, record keeping and data management, and other duties as assigned. This position is a key part of the Stewardship team, working with oversight and management from the Associate Director of Stewardship and Director of Stewardship. This is an entry-level position with potential for long-term growth within the organization.

  • Aquatic/Fisheries Field Technician (Hourly) (up to 8 positions for June-Oct. 2024), Illinois Natural History Survey (Havana, IL; due Feb. 23)

    The Illinois Natural History Survey is seeking up to 8 field technicians to conduct applied research in aquatic ecology and large river systems throughout the state of Illinois. Technicians will assist large river ecologists in the collection of standardized long-term river monitoring data with additional targeted data collection. This position will be 40 hours per week and will be located in Havana, Illinois.

  • Hydrologic Science Technician

    The Coweeta Hydrologic Laboratory of the Southern Research Station is recruiting a Hydrologic Science Technician-GS-1316-06. The position will be advertised as a term two-year appointment. The position will be at the GS-6 level (salary range $35,306 to $46,294/yr plus standard Federal benefits). The duty station will be located at the Coweeta Hydrologic Laboratory in Otto, NC.  The Coweeta Hydrologic Laboratory has been in continuous operation since 1934 and the research program spans the continuum of basic to applied science. Coweeta is a Long-Term Ecological Research Site and works cooperatively with several universities, National Forests, and local, state, and other federal agencies.

    The Michigan Forestry Assistance Program (FAP) provides private forestland owners with technical assistance and information regarding forestry, wildlife habitat, and related natural resource concerns, so that they may make informed decisions about the use and management of their forestlands. (“Landowners” include non-industrial private forestland owners, schools, local units of government, rural, and urban residents.) The Forester position is primarily a field position.

    Minnesota Department of Natural Resources (DNR) I Can! Programs introduce Minnesota families to a variety of outdoor activities including camping, fishing, paddling, and rock climbing. Youth Outdoors I Can Paddle! Crew Members serve as paddling instructors and guides for weekend canoe and kayak workshops. Instructors teach basic paddling technique and provide on-the-water guidance for first-time paddlers. Workshops take place on both lakes and rivers managed by the DNR. Instructors provide environmental education throughout the workshops as well, offering participants information about Minnesota’s natural resources.
